Today marks the launch of my exclusive line of tees and tanks that let you speak volumes, without saying a word. This brand has been a labor of love, and I’ve been working on it for the past two years.
HOW IT ALL STARTED / HOW IT BEGAN
Most of my adult life I have always loved affirmations, scriptures, words, even my very own initials. There was something comforting about all of those things. Although my faith is my foundation, I try to find as many pockets of happiness and joy in this crazy world as I can! One of the things that bring me joy is yummy fabrics that are super soft that make you feel warm and snuggly. Then, when you add a dope affirmation that absolutely nails how I’m feeling at that moment and this is one happy chick!
So, one day I was watching one of my favorite online shopping channels, as I do every day (no joke - I might be slightly addicted to it) and I was introduced to a world-famous brand that expressed some simple but cool affirmations. I was immediately inspired by that concept and the designer. Although, I really loved that brand, there was something missing that did not totally represent my thoughts . . . who I am . . . my truth. I was looking for a little edge, looking for a little urban, and looking for a little class because that’s me. You know, real talk . . sometimes I’m Claire Huxtable . . . sometimes I’m Cardi B. It just depends on the mood I’m in and the moment that I’m in.
TURNING WORDS INTO TEES
I was so inspired by this brand. I knew I could create something that represents that complex woman that lives in a duality of a whole lot of class and a little bit of hood. Thus, Urban Verbiage was born. This brand is uniquely built for anyone that strives to represent who they are authentically and that truth reflects the moment you’re in. #wearyourtruth
